🤖 AI Overview

With the World Cup 2026 kicking off, businesses in the US, Canada, and Mexico face employee scheduling challenges due to late matches, particularly England's clash with Mexico at 01:00 BST on Monday, which could extend to 03:55 with penalties.

This narrative impacts sectors heavily reliant on employee productivity, such as retail and hospitality. Businesses are grappling with employee absenteeism or tardiness the next day, potentially leading to reduced output and service disruptions. Flexible work arrangements, like starting work later, are being explored to mitigate these issues.

To monitor the evolution of this narrative, watch for employee attendance data from major retailers and hospitality chains post-Monday's match. Additionally, track any changes in company policies regarding flexible work hours, which could set a precedent for future late-night events.
